Church History

Bridging people to the gospel……

Faith Tabernacle of Deliverance was founded February 1, 1998 in the home of our Late Founder,  Pastor Joseph L. Thompson Sr. and current Pastor Estell Thompson in Bed Stuy in Brooklyn, New York. Within a 6 month period, Pastor Thompson Sr. sought out to find a new home for the church.  It was at this time that he found an old laundromat available for rent that he would redesign and construct by his own hands to be our current location of worship, located at 1080 St John’s Place, in the heart of crown heights.

Our Beliefs

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written word of God.

We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return.

We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.

We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing in prayer.

We believe that the baptism in the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.

We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separate life in this present world.

The Seal of the Church

Faith Tabernacle of Deliverance, located in Brooklyn, NY  was founded on February 1, 1988.  It was in the home of our late Founder Pastor Joseph L Thompson Sr. and Pastor Emerita Estell Thompson that God planted the vision of the ministry.  Within a 6 month period, the late Pastor Thompson sought to find a new home for the church.  Following the direction of God, he was led to an old laundromat available for rent.  He would go on to redesign and construct by his own hands what is now our current house of worship.
