“IF YOU HAVE THE FAITH, GOD’S GOT THE POWER”

Pastor Joseph L. Thompson II was born to the union of Pastor Joseph L. Thompson Sr. and Evangelist Estell Thompson in Brooklyn, New York. Under their parenting, he was raised in a Christian and God-fearing home. After understanding the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, he received salvation through faith in 1988.

Recognizing the call on his life at an early age, he said “Yes” to the Lord. Being licensed as a Minister, he was taught both the fundamentals and doctrines of the word of God attending the Faith Tabernacle of Deliverance Church of God in Christ where the late Elder Joseph L. Thompson Sr. was both founder and pastor. After the Lord called Pastor Thompson home, God divinely arranged that his spouse, Evangelist Estell Thompson would assume the pastorate. Pastor Estell Thompson continued to instill in him the essence of “true” holiness and godly character that he should have as an ambassador for Christ. Under their spiritual guidance they’ve helped him to learn both the principles and importance of order and protocol in the household of faith.

As a result of excellent behavioral conduct, faithfulness to leadership and having a good character, promotion was nigh. After being thoroughly examined by his spiritual leaders along with the board of Presbyters, he was ordained as an Elder in the Lord’s Church in September of 2006, under Bishop Aubrey Baker Jr.

Pastor Thompson serves as the Senior Pastor of the Faith Tabernacle of Deliverance Church of God in Christ. He also has served as the Sunday School Superintendent, Youth Department President, Minister of Music and AIM Chairman. Pastor Thompson is the proud brother of five siblings, Ladrecia, Larry, Connie, Shameka and Regina. Pastor Thompson is happily married to the lovely Deborah Chennelle, and endeavors to love her as Christ loves the church. He has completed his undergraduate career at Nyack College obtaining Bachelor’s in Music with a minor in Bible and Theology. Though he wears many hats, Pastor Thompson takes great pride in being an educator and feels compelled to assist in shaping the minds of our youth.

Through the anointed preaching, prophetic accuracies, and declarations, as well as standard for “true” holiness throughout the body of Christ, it is ostentatious that his gift has and is making room for him but is also bringing him before great men. Indeed, he has been inducted into the kingdom for “such a time as this.”
